We start the route in Nava de Francia, Salamanca municipality in the Sierra de Francia. We rolled towards the Casarito and left for the Sierra de Francia Camping.
We make the first stop at the Mirador de la Peña de Francia. Impressive granite mass that we are going to climb.
We continue rolling among chestnut trees towards the Río Francia, which we pass through a passage of granite slabs and little by little we arrive at the beautiful mountain town of La Alberca. Incredible population in this precise Las Batuecas – Sierra de Francia Natural Park.
After taking photos of us in its tourist and decked out square. We continue our route crossing the Arrohue de Arrohuevos along the Camino de la Peña. And that later we abandoned it to start the climb to the Peña de Francia. Little by little we reached its peak of 1,727 meters above sea level, with the help of the last revolts on the road.
Above we visit the sanctuary of Our Lady of Peña de Francia. We have a coffee and enjoy its viewpoints. From where we started the descent along the El Cabaco – Peña Francia path, to the SA-203 road and we used a few km to then exit on tracks that bring us back to Nava de Francia.
Beautiful route through the Las Batuecas-Sierra de Francia Natural Park. Passing through La Alberca and ascending to the Peña de Francia.
