We start the route from the top of the Natural Park of the Sierra de la Estrela in Portugal. And more specifically from the Lagoa Comprida car park.
We travel its entire length along the track, leaving the lake always on our right. Until we start to go down the same track and we turn left towards Lake Barragem dos Conchos. Famous for its hole.
The mystery of the hole of the Covão dos Conchos, is nothing more than the drainage of the hydroelectric complex of the Sierra de la Estrella, made by man, built with granite and cement, back in 1955 when the dam was built, to conduct the water 1,5 km to the city of Lagoa.
And here begins the second part of the route. Part that hikers do not usually do since up to here we could say that it is a place for a walk. But now you have to rigorously follow the path marked by milestones. And this path is really difficult because the broom vegetation is very high in some section. But what can be done and I invite you to do so.
And making our way, we advance towards the Lagoa Redonda, and the Laguna Seca, which you can imagine is dry at least at the end of August.
Then we advance more easily until we reach the water channel between the lakes. A luxury of walk formed by the slabs of the conduction, which are appreciated after having been removing branches for a long time.
Let’s go through the Corvao do Forno lake and observe the Corvao do Curral lake from above. And following the drive between lakes it takes us to the road, right to the Lago Comprida car park where we start the route.
