We start the route from the Costa Cruz restaurant, in Pelayos de la Presa. Where at the end we will take the opportunity to have a drink.
We rolled towards the Poblado de San Juan, under the dam of the Pantano de San Juan. We cross the entire restaurant area of the dam and head towards the campsite.
At this point the trails begin and the first 4 kilometers you still want to kill me. And especially climbing a granite slab under the Cerro de San Esteban. But when you get to see the water, the situation calms down and you can start enjoying the trails.
We crossed the Veracruz Urbanization through its unpaved streets and went along the Camino de los Molinos until we reached the Pelayos de la Presa aerodrome. That we perimeter it by leaving the Camino del Cementerio.
We continue along the trails through the Dehesa de Cabildo and climb the trails of Cerro de Valdeloasa and continue towards Trasierra at 882 meters above sea level. With some step (punctual) to load the bike.
We make the descent through the Cerros de la Guache. And we continue down the Camino de Navaoncil and then the Camino de la Zobilla.
Now we will be rolling between fields of vineyards. The area of San Martín de Valdeiglesias, is one of the subzones that fall within the D.O. Wines of Madrid.
We turn left to start the tour along the Camino de la Aliseda. And we will be riding the GR-10 from Valencia to Lisbon (Pelayos de la Presa stage) and that would bring us closer to San Martín de Valdeiglesias, but we will take a variant, arriving at the same place.
We make a stop to see the Castillo de la Coracera from the outside and take the Camino de la Huerta del Monte where we will rejoin the GR-10 and that will take us with a slight descent towards Pelayos de la Presa. We turn to go down through the ruins of the Cistercian Monastery of Santa María de Valdeiglesias.
And from there we connect to return to our starting point to close the route.
