We started from Cercerdilla ready to make another long hiking trip. We do border to the train station and start by Sendero Ródenas to go immediately to Matalobos and find the GR-10 to Cerromalejo Gap, bordering area between the Community of Madrid and Castilla y León. And there we turn left to make the first peak of the day. La Peñota with 1,944 m. Your last part should be drilled for large stones.
We undo the GR-10 and continue to Peña el Águila, 2,003 m. And continue by GR down to the Marichiva Gap. Comment that the snow was delicate since it had frozen and slid often.
We go back up towards the Peña Bercial of 2,002 m. This is the only stretch where there is not a clear path. But with GPS you do not have any problem, even so, you have to go looking at the few goals and the fingerprints, but there is no loss.
And finally we attacked the last summit. The highest of the day. The Cerro Minguete of 2,026 m. Then go down to the Puerto de la Fuenfría and return by the old road from Madrid to Segovia.
Long and hard route, but beautiful!
