Started from Riaza at a good time. In autumn and beginning the snows to enjoy a beautiful route.
We go across the Riaza River towards the Morro del Collado and we go back down until passing the Arroyo del Fontarrón arriving at the small town of Riofrío de Riaza
We change the slope of the Riaza River crossing it again and we will roll through the oak wood of La Hayuela until we go back down towards the Riofrío reservoir.
From this point we follow the 6 km ascent by the small road and with very little traffic that takes us crossing the small beech forest of La Pedrosa to the Puerto de la Quesera. Point of separation between Segovia and Guadalajara.
At this point we touch snow and go down the path that brings us to the Hoyo del Avellano. In its first part it is stony and we meet many walkers, so, out of respect and difficulty, we make the first leg on foot. Then, through the oak grove, it is already cycleable and although we find more walkers there is space for all the trails.
The descent is beautiful next to the Avellano stream and then the Riaza River and takes us back to the Riofrío reservoir.
We continue crossing Riofrío de Riaza and take the beautiful path of the Riofrío de Riaza or also called Los Molinos, which returns us to Riaza, again.
And since we are there and we had booked a table at the Asador Matimore Restaurant … we are not getting anything and we eat a good suckling pig!
