Cerro de San Pedro

Route near Madrid on a cloudy day. To do this, we go to the Cerro de San Pedro Parking on the M-625 and start the Cerro de San Pedro route.

We start between clouds that prevent us from seeing the destination and the steps we are going to take, making us think that “we are here!” in several times. The ascent is stretched out and if you take it hard you can end up with burning legs. But it is short and easy to do.

We pass through the Cerro de la Prestancia and immediately we reach the Cerro de San Pedro at 1,425 meters above sea level. It is easily identifiable by its geodetic point number 050943 San Pedro, from the Geodetic Infrastructure Network, located on a watchtower of granite stones.

We continue the route with a long and beautiful descent, where little by little the day opens up, until we reach the Cordel de Hoyo de Manzanares. We return along it until we reach the crossroads where we turn off along the Cordel de las Cantalojas, passing through Las Cantalojas and enjoying the cattle ranches that come our way behind the fences.

Finally we reach the M-625 road and from there, we head along the side path to the Cerro de San Pedro Parking, our starting point.
