We stated from Caleta de Famara with a day that threatened rain … but we had nothing left. We roll towards the Monte Cavero Volcano and the day opens completely!
We continue along the coast through Caleta de Caballo and La Santa, enjoying the volcanic terrain on a more or less flat and easy terrain if it weren’t for the expensive sale we had. When we reach the Bermeja Mountain, the ascent begins until we enter the perimeter of the Timanfaya National Park. We turned to the Volcano of the Lapas or the Cave where in normal situations they could have enjoyed the entrance to the crater, but we were caught by a strong and short rain as you can see in the photos and video.
We continue on our way to Yaiza between the rain at times and the wine plantations with its characteristic volcanic cultivation with the walls protecting the vineyard planted in conical holes on the picon.
Upon leaving Yaiza, time respected us and we can roll quietly towards Las Breñas and our final destination of Los Limones in Playa Blanca.
In the end, an epic route through the weather conditions that closed beautifully enjoying the DO Lanzarote wines in the restaurant recommended by the organizers of the Vulcan Bike – Track de Lava. That everything does not have to be pedaling!
