We are based on the route of the Open Conquista de Gredos 2020 race (short route), but we make some modifications.
We start the route from Candeleda. Beautiful town from Avila on the south face of the Sierra de Gredos. And what better starting point than La Casa de Las Flores.
We roll out on the GR 180 – Valle del Tiétar, which is the road that takes us to the Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de Chilla. But we turn left at El Rodeo.
We go down to take the AV-P-716 wagon to go through the Garganta de Chilla. And we left to the left playing along paths parallel to the Garganta de Chilla until we almost reached the road that would take us to Madrigal de la Vera.
We go up the Gr-180 and pass through El Raso where the finish line of the DHI Grand Prix- EL RASO- GREDOS has been set, within the Spanish Open Downhill | twenty-one.
We go up the track, while we watch the descent. And we arrived at the Casa del Boquete. A heavy place to get around because you have to carry the bike while you skirt it.
On the way down, we cross the Arroyo de Sayuela and go up pushing the bike until we reach the Cuerda de Porqueros. Then we go down to cross the Garganta de Chilla and go back up to take the Camino de Posadas that takes us to the Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de Chilla.
We start the descent along the path SL-AV1, La Senda de Chilla, but at the end we come out onto the GR-180 that takes us back to Candeleda. Where we have a well-deserved beer.
