We started from the Celta Hotel where we have stayed and go down to the Port of A Guarda.
And we do it touring the promenade marked as The coastal path. That allows to cross the coast of A Guarda from the port to the mouth of the Miño river.
We pass through the construction on the sea of the Lobster Nurseries and through stretches of wood flown roads you reach the mouth. Right at the tip of Santa Trega.
Follow us to A Praia where we turn towards O Muiño and from there along paths to the Parish of Camposancos and Santa Isabel where we start the ascent to Santa Tecla by PR-G 122.5.
At the beginning we have the section with the greatest slope, but it is a small cemented path. That is immediately overcome and we reach the viewpoint of Outeiro do Lobo. From where we contemplate the views of the mouth of the Miño to the Atlantic separating Spain and Portugal and being protected by the Forte da Ínsua, built by João I for the defense of the river on the island of Ínsua, of sand and rock.
We follow directions from PR-G 122.5 towards Cruz do Home, Pedra Furada and finally we arrive at Santa Trega of 254 meters above sea level. From where we return to contemplate the mouth, the Atlantic, A Guarda and the Castro de Santa Tecla (Castro Citania).
Then we go down the PG-G122 to A Guarda where we close the route in our favorite restaurant O Cangreixal.
Beautiful and simple route that allows you to see the magnificent meeting of the mouth of the Miño River separating Spain and Portugal.
