The Wicker Route – Cañamares

In the heart of the province of Cuenca, there is a cultural treasure that has brought life to several generations: wicker. This plant fiber, as flexible as it is strong, has not only woven baskets and furniture but has also intertwined the stories of entire villages, creating a legacy that is celebrated today through the fascinating Wicker Route.

We will focus on the village of Cañamares, where the Escabas River creates the valley before passing through the Estrecho de Priego. Located in the heart of the Serranía Media of Cuenca, this village is also known for being the Astronomical Park of the Serranía de Cuenca, but it is undoubtedly recognized for the reddish colors of its wicker plantations. A true beauty without a doubt.

Our route is truly peaceful and suitable for all audiences. It is true that in the end the distance is close to 10 km, but you can go crazy taking photos and time flies by quickly.
