We start the route in the town of Navalagamella, and we do it on purpose because a good stew awaits us at the end of the route. Which always motivates.
We go up to the water tanks and then we go towards Los Enebros to reach the Cordel del Puente de San Juan. Passing by the Fresnedillas-Navalagamella Space Tracking Station.
We arrive at the small M-532 road and take it towards Fresnedillas de la Oliva. We turn through Las Viñas to cross the Dehesa de Navalquejigo. Remember that this area cannot be traveled from March 1 to June 30 as it is a nesting area for protected species.
We left the Camino del Canalizo towards the M-521 road. In this area we enter the area recently burned in the Robledo de Chavela fire.
Along paths parallel to the road we arrive at the Ermita de San Antonio and then to the southern part of Robledo de Chavela. We left for the GR-10 Camino de las Casas de Navas del Rey. We climb the Alto de Navahonda and descend through the Humilladero and the Ermita de Navahonda.
We continue through the Monitoring and Data Acquisition Station, NASA-INTA. Easily recognizable by its 70 m diameter antenna. We continue along the Arroyo Valdezate until we turn through the Mines of Nuestro Padre Jesús and we arrive at Colmenar del Arroyo visiting its Medieval Bridge and we left by the Camino de Navalpozo until the path of the Conduction of the Picadas Reservoir to Valmayor but that we found it closed and It forces us to return to Navalagamella by road.
Beautiful route through the Sierra Oeste with a visit to the Hermitages and the satellite following antennas.
