We started from the Murcian town of Librilla to the Barrancos de Gabas where we make a first stop at the Mirador de Librilla and the next one at the viewpoint of the beautiful reservoir of La Rambla de Algeciras with its turquoise waters. To then venture into arid and aerial trails of the ravine. It becomes slow this part and heavy by the strong heat of the day.
We overcome this part and we rolled for the massive lemons cultivation of the area, but we go back into the ravines, now by track, until we reach the water of the reservoir and freshen up a bit.
We followed the route to the town of Gebas, where we arrived touched by the strong heat, where luckily there was a fountain that allowed us to refresh ourselves and fill the camelbacks. We started again by spending some time in the creek with part of the lost road and we hesitated to cross the pipeline between Cartagena and Puertollano where we tried not to cross the Barranco Hondo and continue towards the Rambla de Algeciras … but it was totally unsuccessful with what they returned to pass it has a path with an aerial part, but we choose to descend over the pipeline. And climb the path of the Camino de la Vera Cruz.
Once this part is over, we have already taken the track to La Sierra de la Muela where we appreciate the shade of the pine forests. At the top we stopped at the Mirador de la Muela where we enjoyed good views of Alhama de Murcia. And we go down, by trails, to the Tajo-Segura Transfer Channel to return to Librilla.
Route that deceives by its low accumulated slope. It gets slow and hard.
