We begin the route from Guía de Isora, a municipality located in the southwestern part of the island of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands. This municipality is characterized by its varied landscape ranging from the high peaks of the Dorsal Range to the beautiful beaches of the coast. Mount Teide, the highest mountain in Spain, is located east of Guía de Isora. It also boasts impressive cliffs and extensive rural areas.
And for more anecdotes. The day we planned this route coincided with the day they were doing a Mountain Trail. So we were accompanied, and we accompanied them all the time as there were many common sections.
The route basically has a big ascent and a big descent with a small final incline. We start ascending towards Aripe, a small town belonging to Guía de Isora and surrounded by a rural and mountainous landscape, characterized by agricultural terraces where various products such as vineyards, almond trees, fig trees, and fruit trees are grown.
We return to the route after visiting it and continue climbing to see Chirche, which is another picturesque village also located in the municipality of Guía de Isora. And at its exit, we return to the ascent until we reach altitudes higher than 1,000 meters above sea level. Where the route already crests, and we can clearly see the island of La Gomera and its profile drawn on the Atlantic Ocean at times.
We descend along volcanic paths, like the entire route, towards El Jaral, another municipality of Guía de Isora. And we continue descending until we touch the TF-82 road, where we cross the Tanse Ravine and make the last ascent to return to Guía de Isora.
And in the end, we can say that it is a precise volcanic route on the southwest side of the island of Tenerife and that we close it, gastronomically speaking, at the Tasca 1900 restaurant.
