We parked the car in Torrijos, Toledo. In a very specific and intentional place. In front of the Asador la Panza Restaurant where we would later close the route with a good meal.
We rolled out of the town heading north and then turn towards Barcience. And from there to Rielves from where we make a long track run to Albarreal del Tajo, which, as the name implies, we are close.
We will continue along the Camino de la Barca. We cross the CM-4000 road and soon, when you arrive on tracks between fields, at Casa de La Calaña you start to see the silhouettes of La Barranca.
We continue along the Camino de la Casa de Bajo de la Calaña and after passing the Coto Alto we already get into the Barrancas de Bujuron. Awesome! As many define it is “The little Canyon of the Colorado in Toledo”. And it is not for less that it has been the scene of many advertising spots, music videos or scenes of television series.
The Barrancas de Burujón are a sedimentary formation of the course of the Tagus River, located between the municipalities of Burujón, Albarreal de Tajo and La Puebla de Montalbán. West of the Province of Toledo, Autonomous Community of Castilla-La Mancha.
The Barrancas de Castrejón and Calaña, also known as Barrancas de Burujón, is a set of gorges and gullies that has developed at the foot of an important escarpment excavated by the river in the tertiary-age detritic materials that fill its sedimentary basin. After contemplating and photographing ourselves from all possible angles with the Barrancas throughout its entire ecology we continue on our way to the municipality of Bujuron. And leaving the we take the track of the Camino de Torrijos and then the Camino de la Carbonera that takes us to Gerindote. We left him by the Way of the Convent, that this yes. It already leads us to Torrijos finally.
The route is easy. Little slope and totally track. But it is worth it for the spectacular landscape of an unknown Toledo.
