We start the route from Zarzalejo Station. Specifically from the plaza of the Virgen de la Asunción Church and we walk towards the passage of the train track over the bridge, right next to the School of Stonemasonry and we enter the field along the Camino del Molino Patatero. Further on we turn off to go through the old quarry and current climbing wall.

Then we return to the Camino del Molino Patatero and we continue passing between farms along some beautiful tree-lined paths to come out at the Dehesa de Fuentelámpara, where the ascent begins passing under the railway from Avila to Madrid and we take the Camino del Escorial.

We owed it to climb the crests of the small hill and visit the remains of the old bunkres of the Civil War. Stopping point to contemplate the size of the dehesa and the control that was had from this military point.

We continue climbing until we reach Zarzalejo town and from there go down to Zarzalejo station along Camino de la Gartantilla and its fountains.
