Valle de Lozoya

Beautiful route through Lozoya Valley! It starts from a strategic place next to the beginning of the Pinilla reservoir in the town of Pinilla del Valle.

We take the track with a little climb towards Alameda del Valle and then towards Rascafria where the circle of the route begins. We turn right towards mountain pass the Reventón. Just before the door to the Reventón we came across a capricious stone figure that looks like a dog to me and they call it ” The Devil’s wheelbarrow”. We ascend to the Reventón where we stop to eat something and contemplate the views of the valley. We go down the same place to the track and close the circle turning to the right that descends to the Lozoya River, but before we stop at the Robledos viewpoint where there is a monument to the Forest Keeper.

We pass the Lozoya River very loaded with water and we take the trails of La Angostura almost to Rascafria again, where we undo the path to the beginning of the route. We have the opportunity to take a bath and closed it with a good eat in the Terraza la Cañada … that’s it’s reason to the reference of the strategic place of the beginning.
