Serranía de Ronda. Ronda – Sierra de la Hidalga

We start the route from the Malaga city of Ronda. And we are getting to know a little the Serranía de Ronda towards the Sierra de la Hidalga.

We left visiting the Gardens and the Mirador de Ronda and passed the Puente del Tajo towards the Iglesia del Espíritu Santo where we already descended through a sedero that will take us along the bed of the Río Grande using the Camino de Plaza. And the one that we will abandon to take the String of the Fishermen who approach us and begin to climb the mountains of the Betic System.

We deviate towards the Cortijo de Meleguetín and continue along the winding ascent of the Camino del Espinarejo that take us to the top of the antennas in the Cortijo de la Hoya del Pilón. From where we enjoy the magnificent views of the entire Serranía de Ronda.

Afterward, we make our way back to the Fisherman’s Line runway via the dusty CMA runway. And at the intersection of the Camino del Cortijo de Calderon, signposted with the GR marks corresponding to GR 243. Sierra de las Nieves. Stage 1: Ronda – El Burgo, GR-249. Stage 23: El Burgo – Ronda, we take it towards Ronda.

The red and white markings bring us closer to the Fairground and from there to the center of Ronda on urban land.

And what better way to close the route than by tapas in Ronda.

(Route travelled in January 2016).
