Willing to make a quiet route escaping the heat of the asphalt in Madrid. And what better way to climb to the top of the mountains and walk among pine trees and watch the water flow from the streams of the Lozoya River at our feet.
We leave from the Car Park of the Port of Cotos, along the road that leads to Valdesquí, but then we leave it to go through the Pinóarron Refuge.
We continue down to Arroyo de las Guaramillas where we see its waterfall. We continue, enjoying the pine trees that provide shade and the fern forests, going downstream of the stream until we reach the Lozoya River when the Cotos Streams and the Cerradillas have joined.
We continue between paths reaching the Camino de la Colada where we turn left starting our climb up the Laguna stream.
We cross the M-604 Cotos road and continue up the stream. Then we turn left, again, and look for the Camino Viejo del Paular, GR10.1. That will return us to the Cotos Parking and where we will have a beer at Marcelino’s Venta.
