We start this route from Lake Bulloses. But to get here you have to keep in mind that if you want to get there with your car you have to do it before 07.00 in the morning. If you do this later, you must use the buses that run from June 1st to September 30th.
Because we wanted to take advantage of the cooler hours. We chose to arrive before the access road was closed by the D60 road. With which we start the route when the day begins to rise. We pass the Bones Hores hotel and begin to climb through the woods in a north-westerly direction.
Later they come to some indications. We take the one on the left that points to the Puig del Carlit. We leave Estany Negre on our left and continue towards the refuge between Estany Sec (on the left) and Estany de la Comassa (on the right).
The path climbs slightly and passes over Estany Llong (on the left) to a crossroads at Estany de Valell. We will continue straight on crossing a footbridge and in the direction of El Carlit.
We arrive at the Estany de Sobirans (on the right) where our way back is, but follow the signs to Pic del Carlit. Now we see the path prefectly drawn on the quarry and that marks us marks the path to the top. It is a very characteristic image.
We pass by the small Estany Gelat and continue climbing to the top. Needless to say, the last part gets a little complicated and maybe you need to use your hands. The climb is steep and in some sections with loose stone. But it can be done. And it’s worth getting to the top … and if you’ve got up early. You will have the reward of being with very little doing. The Pic del Carlit of 2,921 meters above sea level it is amazing!
Now we have to go down the path until we reach the Estany de Sobirans where we had to go back along the route of the 12 lakes. A beautiful green area most used by hikers and families who did not want to make the summit or who are going to spend the day. We continue along Trebens Lake and Castellar Lake.
We continue down to the Estany de les Duques and enter the forest again. We pass the Estany del Viver and return again with the ascent path that will take us to the car park above the Les Bulloses dam.
