We started from the parking of La Barranca (TM of Navacerrada) willing to make the route there marked as Mariano Route. In commemoration of Mariano Gonzalez Tejada, who died in a mountain accident.

We start it by passing the small dam of the Navacerrada People’s Reservoir and we go through pines and then giant ferns through the Almorchones area until we reach the channel of the Malicious Creek. By which we climb parallel to it to the Peñotillo. First we pass through the low of 1,848 meters above sea level and then under the wall, on its south face, we border and ascend to the high or Peñotillo proper of 2,124 msn. Start the road back on the PR-16 to the Collado del Piornal with its characteristic rain gauge and where we turn left to go down the PR-26.
The descent has the same slope as the rise. And we do it following the parallel PR first by the Regajo del Cancho Negro, then by the Pez and then at the end by the Navacerrada River until we reach the Air Force Reservoir, just above the Navacerrada People Reservoir where we had started the route.
