Trails from Navalagamella

We started from the town of Navalagamella, located in the Sierra Oeste of Madrid. And just entering the mountain we can see the remains of a large bunker of the Civil War.

We are going towards the North part of the town. Right in the Mirador del Hondillo. From where we contemplate the Sierra de Guadarrama and snow and where the first trails of the route along the Hondillos and Perales Rivers begin. To continue later by the Cañada Real Leonesa, and the trails of the Cordel de la Cruz Verde and the Cordel del Puente de San Juan that lead us finally to Fresnedillas de la Oliva.

We leave by the Camino del Canalizo and return to take the path of the Dehesa de Navalquejigo. It is a beautiful area but it is cut from February to September by the presence of protected species. Important date when planning this route.

The final stretch of the Dehesa is by track and takes us back to Fresnedillas de la Oliva. Where, at the exit of this town, we can see another great bunker also from the Civil War.

We continue towards Navalroble until the Camino de Navahonda that returns us again in Navalagamella.

And at the end of the route. We were able to make a Cocido Madrileño in the Bar-Restaurant Km.0. Do not miss it! They are very kind and they gave us lunch at 4.30pm.

Very beautiful route. Easy technically but that, with so much path, 60% of the route, it ends up being long.
